Shut up about your schedule.

OK I was gonna write about this cool movie I saw about the food manufacturing industry and how we should TRUST NO ONE but something compelled me to instead tell you all to shut the hell up.

Guys, you need to SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR SCHEDULE ALREADY.

Making time to work out is hard. I can appreciate / understand / empathize. We all are Very Busy and need to hurry up so we can get to work / class / that meeting / a PowerLunch / another conference call / tech rehearsal / our computer / Gawker / therapy / the airport / happy hour / The Real Housewives / band practice / some sports game / your wedding. It is very difficult to get all of this done, and where on earth are we going to find three hours, so we can get to the gym, warm up, do a workout, cool down, and then shower.

NOWHERE. WE ARE NOT GOING TO FIND THAT TIME ANYWHERE.

Here is where you are SO WRONG. First of all, you don’t need that much time at the gym. We’ve already talked about how you can be super efficient using High Intensity Interval Training, and warm-ups only take 3 minutes. As for cool down, you can do that on your walk home. Oh, look, now it looks like you can get a full workout in less than 30 minutes.

YEAH BUT SHOWERS

Just shut up and shower faster. Seriously. Put your shampoo on a closer shelf or something. Showers should take like 6 or 7 minutes. Just get it done.

BUT I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD REALLY BE DOING AN HOUR AT THE GYM.

Yes, well, do you have an hour to spend at the gym? No. So, you need to Make It Work in less time. Just because you can’t spend as much time as you’d like at the gym doesn’t mean you should spend no time at all. 15 minutes? Great. Rock it out, get your heart rate up, and then enjoy the benefits for the rest of the day / life. ADDITIONALLY, the interval training we talked about can be done by running, so you don’t even need a gym membership, or any equipment. You can also do any bootcamps or circuits in the privacy of your own home. Use wine bottles instead of weights. THERE YOU GO.

YEAH BUT IF I WORKED OUT AT THE GYM, FOR A FULL HOUR, IT WOULD BE BETTER.

This is where I just need you to shut the hell up. Stop focusing on what you should be doing, and just focus on what you can do. Even if you can only do 20 minutes a day, if you do that 6 days a week, you’re now working out three hours each week. See? And I’ll bet on one of those days, maybe on the weekend, you could even push it to 45 minutes, and have that be your “long day.” Don’t do nothing just because you feel like the little you can do isn’t enough. You aren’t too busy. Even a little bit makes a huge difference. So Just. Shut. UPABOUTITALREADY.

WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS BLOG YOU DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS.
